Revenge of the Lawn

Revenge of the Lawn is a choreographic and musical meditation about who we are and what we do when the damage is done. With sincerity and sensuality, the dancers stumble, fall, tangle and tug themselves into complex states. Light and movement are inextricably linked in symphonic arrays that start move across and through each other. Landslides of physical events get entangled in each other and create unexpected consequences.

In Revenge of the Lawn, they have invited dance artist Sebastian Biong and set and lighting designer Norunn Standal into the collaboration. As teenagers, Helgebostad and Biong were interested in humour and skits, and were masters of physical exploration in school revue productions. Both went on to study at Oslo National Academy of the Arts, admittedly not at the same time. The artistry of Rueslåtten and Helgebostad includes a love of the surreal. They want to mix and share the knowlegde that has been stored in their bodies and create new connections between each other and with the audience.
